Mississippi State used a barrage of 3-pointers to build a comfortable lead early and held on in the end to knock off Florida 75-69 in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament on Friday.
The win gave the Bulldogs another quality victory to pad their NCAA Tournament resume and will be going for another one today at 2:15 p.m. taking on hometown Vanderbilt.
The two teams met earlier this season in Nashville with the Commodores coming away with a 75-72 win. Vanderbilt leads the overall series 72-43 and also 7-4 in games played on a neutral court.
The Bulldogs (22-10) are shooting 43.8-percent from the field and averaging 72.8 points per game. MSU is also hitting 36.3-percent from the outside and 68.5-percent of the free throw line. Their opponents are shooting 38.5 percent against them and averaging 64.6 points.
