The UCLA Bruins opened their season Thursday night with a 95-59 exhibition win over the NAIA Westmont Warriors. In the words of coach Ben Howland, "We did a lot of good things tonight". Indeed, the Bruins did play well, especially in the first half when there was an impressive effort on particularly the offensive end of the floor.
