Second half surge lifts State
STARKVILLE, Miss., - Mississippi State wrapped up its preseason action Friday night downing defending NAIA national champion and No. 1 ranked Pikeville 94-70 at Humphrey Coliseum.
The Bulldogs led by only two points at halftime but outscored Pikeville by 22-points in the second half.
"Our guys made some adjustments in the second half," said MSU head coach Rick Stansbury. "We controlled the flow. We got some stops. We got more rebounds and got out in transition and scored different ways."
MSU shot 54.7-percent from the field and hit 8-of-22 shots behind the arc on the evening. The Bulldogs also had six players score in double figures.
