Weekly Purdue Review

Landon Feichter has signed the papers: He officially will go on scholarship at Purdue at the start of the spring semester.

All it took to shed the walk-on role was leading the team in tackles and interceptions, apparently.

Feichter vows the scholarship - which he said was "very, very exciting" - won't change how he plays.

"Coming in here, I wasn't too worried about a scholarship, I just wanted to get on the field," Feichter said. "It did push me to get to this point. That's something I'm going to keep. I'm not going to act like I have a scholarship. Just keep pushing, keep grinding like a walkon, just trying to still make a name for myself."

Feichter enters the Boilermakers' regular-season finale with 71 tackles and four interceptions, the latter stat is tied for the Big Ten lead. He says he simple has taken advantage of Purdue's schemes defensively, which often puts him in position to make tackles.

"It is pretty cool to lead the team in tackles, but it's just how our defense works," he said.

Receiver Dolapo Macarthy also earned a scholarship for next semester, Coach Danny Hope announced last week.
