Maybe it finally sunk in.
For all the years Matt Painter has been yelling, then pleading, then yelling at his Purdue teams to get a rebound, the Boilermakers seem to be getting the message.
Purdue is averaging 44.2 rebounds per game this season - the highest total in Painter's eight-year tenure - and its 11.7-plus margin is second in the Big Ten.
That's saying a lot.
In the previous seven seasons under Painter, the Boilermakers were eighth or worse in rebounding margin six times. Its best finish in that span was in 2010-11 when it had a plus-1.9 margin and was fifth in the league.
