Thompson hits double digits
When Illinois native Dylan Thompson began the recruiting process, he hoped to land a few early scholarship offers, but never imagined that he would hit double digits by early March. That is exactly what happened this past weekend as the Iowa Hawkeyes became the tenth school to offer the 6-foot-5, 270-pound defensive lineman from Montini Catholic High School.
"I was actually at a pep rally at our school on Friday when my coach called me into his office. He told me that he just got off the phone with Iowa and they're really interested and wanted to talk me," said Thompson. "So I called and talked to the head coach, Coach Ferentz, and he said they really like how I play and my explosiveness and think I would be a good fit at Iowa."
The Hawkeyes join Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Purdue, Syracuse, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Tennessee on Thompson's list.
