Spring: Battles to watch
Darrell Hazell's first spring practice starts in just over one week, and he will have three weeks to start forming decisions on key personnel.
We take a look at some expected to be the most hotly contested battles:
QuarterbackLikely the most-anticipated battle of the spring will be at the team's most important position. Who will emerge as the starting quarterback with Robert Marve and Caleb TerBush gone?
The most likely options are senior Rob Henry, redshirt freshmen Austin Appleby and Bilal Marshall and freshman Danny Etling.
New coordinator John Shoop will be looking for the most accurate passer with the best grasp on an offense that Appleby and Henry called complex. It's a progression-read style West Coast offense, and it likely will take much of the spring to learn.
