NAMEDROPPER: Offense shines in scrimmage
AUBURN | The offense struggled to make much happen during Auburn's first fall scrimmage Wednesday afternoon.
Saturday's performance provided an ideal retort.
Led primarily by quarterbacks Nick Marshall and Jeremy Johnson, the team's offensive enterprise crafted several explosive plays during a warm morning session inside Jordan-Hare Stadium. Long passes from Marshall, Johnson and Kiehl Frazier forced the defense to its heels, which then paved the way for some aggressive ground-game play.
"They had more of a sense of urgency on the field," cornerback Jonathon Mincy said. "They enjoyed being out there. You could tell by the way they were executing their plays."
