Newcomers give Texas A&M added depth

The No. 13 Texas A&M men's basketball team takes to the floor Friday night at 8:30 p.m. at Reed Arena to open a season that is full of expectations never before bestowed on an Aggie basketball team.


When Prairie View A&M heads to College Station Friday, the Aggies will be returning four of five starters, and the majority of the team that was three seconds away from a Sweet 16 birth.


But regardless of having Acie Law, Joseph Jones, Antanas Kavaliauskas, Josh Carter and Marlon Pompey back, the Aggies will have a very fresh look this season.


That's because the Aggies welcomed in a five-player recruiting class that ranked No. 22 in the nation according to Rivals.com. A&M also welcomes a redshirt freshman to the court, a transfer that was injured last season and a walk-on that should see more on-court duties this season.
