A Haunting Melody

WazzuWatch.com Nostalgia is perhaps best to enjoy when the memories are pleasant - otherwise they tend to turn into nasty nightmares. The 11th-ranked Washington State University Cougars' men's hoop team will be finding themselves treading a sinuous path through memory lane when they take on the winner of the Washington-Arizona State game as the second seed in the Pac-10 conference tournament on Thursday. WSU has not won a conference tournament game since the tourney was re-instituted in 2004, but then again, Wazzu has never been the second seed like they are entering the 2007 tourney. That high seeding is indicative of both the conference season - where they finished 13-5 - and the overall season, a season which has them playing solely for NCAA seeding since it was long ago established that they would be making the Big Dance.
