Wolford making his mark
After an unsuccessful four year tenure by former line coach John Hunt, Spurrier brought in the Ohio native to revamp and breathe life into a USC running game who, other than 2006, did not finish higher than 101st in the national rushing rankings in three other seasons under Hunt. Aside from serving as the offensive line coach, Wolford was given the title of "run-game coordinator", a post he also held at Illinois. With that, he was issued a heavy burden: drastically upgrade Carolina's offensive line on-field production, as well as the evaluations and recruiting at the position.
