Whitney Bays, a former top national prospect, is transferring to Purdue.

Bays, a 6-foot-2 redshirt freshman at Maryland, will become a Boilermaker this season, she confirmed via direct message tonight. She had taken a visit to Purdue June 7.

Bays was ESPN's No. 13 player overall coming out of Huntington High School in West Virginia in the 2010 class, but had suffered a knee injury during her senior year. She then redshirted her first year as a Terp before averaging 2.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in 10 minutes a game last year.

She will have two seasons of eligibility remaining after sitting out her first season at Purdue.
