With Purdue coming off an 0-3 Big Ten start, Purdue looks to get in the win column and put this weekend's loss at Ohio State behind it when it plays at fellow winless-in-the-Big Ten Minnesota
GoldandBlack.com will much more on the Gophers throughout the week. In the meantime, here's a quick first look.
Purdue catches the Gophers in an interesting period of transition.
Starting quarterback MarQueis Gray - the foundation of its offense last season and early on in this one - was just moved to receiver on a full-time basis, as Minnesota is now turning its offense over to true freshman Phillip Nelson, a dual-threat-type who threw two touchdowns and two interceptions and ran for a team-high 67 yards in this weekend's loss to Wisconsin.
Gray, who's 6-foot-5, fast and powerful, caught three passes for 20 yards.
After a 4-0 start that included a win at UNLV and a win over Syracuse, Minnesota's lost its first three conference games: at Iowa; to Northwestern in Minneapolis; and at Wisconsin
Minnesota has scored just 13 points in all three league games.
