Butch Jones got a Gatorade bath after his Cincinnati team clinched a share of the Big East championship with a 34-17 victory over Connecticut on Saturday.
And all he was worried about after that was celebrating with his coaches and players, apparently.
When asked in the post game press conference about speculation he is a candidate elsewhere, Jones wouldn't bite.
"I'm not going to talk about my job status," Jones said, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Tom Groeschen. "(Saturday) is about the kids."
The Bearcats (9-3) won at least a share of the conference title for the fourth time in the last five seasons. Louisville, Rutgers and Syracuse also finished with 5-2 records in Big East play.
"I don't care if it's a share. It's a championship," Jones said, per Groeschen.
But just how long will Jones enjoy the accomplishment?
Jones will visit Purdue Sunday for an interview, GoldandBlack.com has been told by several sources. It's possible Colorado is also courting Jones, who could meet with administration there as early as Monday.
The Boilermakers are looking to fill their head opening coach left when Danny Hope was fired a day after the regular season ended.
Purdue, led by interim coach Patrick Higgins, will learn its bowl destination on Sunday. It's likely the Boilermakers will wind up in Texas, either at the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Houston or the Heart of Dallas Bowl on Jan. 1.
