Gerad Parker officially has been announced as Purdue's tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator.
The school sent a release on Monday late afternoon.
The former Marshall wide receivers coach is the eighth coach to join Darrell Hazell's staff. Hazell still is waiting to fill the defensive line job.
"(Parker) is a young and energetic coach with passing game experience," Hazell said in the release. "His background will help in the development of some very special tight ends in our program.
"His addition brings another smart, well-organized coach with a passion to make Purdue great to our staff."
Parker helped mold Marshall Tommy Shuler into one of the top receivers in the FBS. Shuler averaged 9.2 receptions per game, tops in the country, and was No. 18 nationally with 94.8 yards per game in 2012.
Prior to his two seasons with the Thundering Herd, Parker was the passing game coordinator, recruiting coordinator, wide receivers and running backs coach at UT-Martin.
