Sophomore forward Donnie Hale is transferring from Purdue, per an announcement from the school just as the Boilermakers were set to open preseason practice.
The third-year sophomore becomes the fourth player to leave Purdue with remaining eligibility of last season's roster, joining Anthony Johnson, Jacob Lawson and Sandi Marcius.
As a redshirt freshman last season, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 14.5 minutes over 32 games, including eight starts, and averaged 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds.
But this summer, he'd fallen behind physically and saw the competition for playing time increase with the additions of transfer Errick Peck and the redshirted Jay Simpson.
It is assumed Hale will now transfer down a level, with schools like Bellarmine or Southern Indiana seemingly possibilities for the New Albany native.
