NFL Boilers: Neal's transition complete; Week 13
A few years ago, this kind of move would have been hard to imagine.
Mike Neal was a defensive tackle at Purdue, and a good one, clogging up rushing lanes in the middle of the line of scrimmage. But never did one consider his future might be at linebacker, where the 6-foot-4, then 300-plus pounder would have to use his agility as much as his power.
But, now having gone on an off-season diet to help him trim down, Neal is turning into a pretty good linebacker.
Neal has avoided the injuries that plagued the first few years of his NFL career, and has 34 tackles, three sacks and an interception in 12 games this season, including eight starts.
Drew Brees chastised the media a big late Monday night, following the Saints' loss at NFC foe Seattle.
It's been said often the last few years that New Orleans isn't a good road team, yet the statistics show otherwise. Brees pointed out that the Saints have the most road wins in the NFL since the 2009 season.
Mike Otto had a play a little tight end on Sunday against the Colts, with the Titans having some injury issues up front.
Chargers center Nick Hardwick is doing his part to help out military families.
He, and others, are donating a $100 per San Diego touchdown this season, supporting the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation.
In case you missed it last week, Kyle Adams was signed by Tampa Bay last week.
The former Chicago Bear, who was released after the first game of the season was active in Week 13 for the Bucs but wasn't targeted for a pass.
The following is a look at the NFL Boilers, their roles and their Week 13 statistics.
