Was that hummel's fr year? I remember that too, but can't remember the year. I know that game against MSU their fr year was a great game where we almost lost a 20-pt lead. Hummel hi a huge 18-footer at the end of that game. That shot and the Wisconsin block.

Hummel: "He will be a cult like figure to Purdue basketball fans" -Steve Lavin during the baby Boilers win against MSU in Feb 2008. I had to rewatch the game as soon as I got home from sitting second row in the Paint Crew. That line summed it up perfectly...and from the first exhibition game he played in to his last game his play will be 100% unforgettable. The 5 second call against WVU, the save followed by the 3 against MSU, the block, the countless rebound-fast breaks, etc...just amazing.
Lew: Sienna. The first time I saw him absolutely take over a game, and it wasn't the last. So glad Brian mentioned that in his blog. -the 7 games Purdue played with Lew and Hummel showed me how great of a PG he is. The stats may not always show it, but he brings much more than the stat sheet will tell. Lew will go down as the most underrated Boiler in my lifetime, and it's not close. People will continue to harp on his jumpshot for the next ten years instead of remembering the controlled aggression he brought to the offense.
Ryne: against WVU his sophomore year he owned Devin Ebanks on a couple possessions...right then I knew this wasn't your normal 3 point specialist. Out classed and out sized, he brought it.
