LSU Preview

Mississippi State will go from the SEC's best to the league's worst.

The Bulldogs will try to put Tuesday night's disappointing overtime loss to No. 2 Kentucky behind them as they venture down to the Bayou to take on a hapless LSU squad that is 0-11 in conference play today at 3 p.m.

MSU defeated the Tigers 67-51 earlier this season on Jan. 30 and have now won 12 of the last 20 against them. But it is LSU that still holds the edge in the series at 103-94.

The Bulldogs enter this afternoon's contest with a 18-8 record and a 6-5 mark in the Southeastern Conference and having lost four straight games away from Humphrey Coliseum.

State is shooting 43.2-percent from the field and averaging 73.3 points per game. The Bulldogs are third in the SEC behind the arc knocking down 36.1-percent make a league-best nine treys an outing. They also continue to top the conference in most defensive categories including field goal percentage defense (37.2), blocked shots (7.92), defensive rebounds (29.65) and defensive rebounding percentage (70.5%).
