Defensive end blown away at BC

Nick Arcidiacono watched his brother Brandon sign his letter of intent with Rutgers earlier this month and now his family will turn their focus to his recruitment.

The younger Arcidiacono is waiting for his first offer but there has been no shortage of interest.

At 6-foot-4 and 230-pounds, Arcidiacono is one of Pennsylvania's top defensive ends and is poised for a big senior season at Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood Catholic.

He recently attended BC's first junior day of the year and had only good things to say about the experience.

"It was awesome up there," Arcidiacono said. "I really liked it. The campus and the coaches were great. It was great to be up there."

It was his first trip to Boston College and one that both he and his family were looking forward to.

"My parents had wanted me to go up there and I really wanted to myself. It's a great college and they have a great tradition so I wanted to see what it was all about.

"Going into it I had high expectations. You expect a lot from Boston College and when I was there I was like, 'Wow, this is awesome.' I could really see myself playing there."

Arcidiacono said he had plenty of time to speak with Ryan Day, who is leaving BC for Temple, but also head coach Frank Spaziani.

Arcidiacono visited Penn State twice during the fall. In the next few weeks he plans to visit Maryland and Michigan State.

"Penn State was awesome," he recalled. "My brother played there so I kind of knew what to expect. I had seen it all. Penn State is Penn State and it's really cool up there.

"I don't have any favorites to be honest. I just have to see what I get and go from there."

Arcidiacono missed more than half of his junior season with a groin injury.
