Cox a dual-sport threat

Pasadena high school standout quarterback Brandon Cox is not spending much energy on recruiting right now. That is because he pitches for the Bulldogs baseball team, and plays right field when he is not doing that.

With recruiting for the football class of 2013 beginning to heat up, Duck Sports Authority caught up with the multi-sport star to get an update on his college recruitment.

"So far things are going well," began Cox. "I've been focused on baseball so I haven't been paying too close of attention but overall the recruiting process is going well."

Last year at the plate Cox averaged an impressive .304. He was modest about whether his slugging percentage would be noteworthy, trading it instead for on base average.

"I am not going to say I have a lot of power," laughed Cox. "I bat second so I make contact with the ball and try to beat the ball out."
