Injury doesn't slow down Thomas

As a sophomore Dallas, Ga., running back Kamani Thomas chewed up 1,901 yards and 22 touchdowns averaging eight yards per carry.

Turf toe hampered a promising junior year but did not prevent the three-star prospect from picking up several scholarship offers.

Arizona State, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy and Vanderbilt have all offered Thomas so far. There are a pair of school though that are starting to stand out above the others.

"I like Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt," Thomas said. "I like their academics and location. I like how I've been treated when I've gone to both schools."

Thomas has also been in constant contact with Mississippi State but has not yet visited the Bulldogs in person.

"I've heard a lot from Mississippi State," Thomas said. "They send me letters all the time and want me to come visit. I really can't say much about Mississippi State until I come and visit but from the coaches and what they've talked to me about I feel pretty good about Mississippi State. I've just got to visit."

The 5-foot-9, 192-pounder plans to make a visit to the Magnolia State over the summer to check out both MSU and Ole Miss.
