Tetlow breaks down decision

Richmond (Va.) Mills E Godwin entered the Wake Forest fold when he committed to the Demon Deacons Thursday, Nov. 1.

Jonathan Himebauch, who was Tetlow's primary recruiter for Wake, was a major factor in the 6-foot-6 and 294-pound offensive tackle's decision.

"We built a real strong relationship and we kind of see eye to eye on a lot of things, and I like the way he coaches and teaches," Tetlow said. "He sees a lot in me. I really like him."

"He's just real pumped and real excited. He was asking me if I get an offer next week if they ask me to visit Florida State or Vandy or [Virginia] Tech what would be my answer? I'd be like thank you, but no thanks. I'm a firm commitment."

Tetlow, who is rated as a three-star recruit by, added he has a peace about his decision.

"When I was about to make the decision I felt good about my decision, but I was still nervous, because it's a really, really big decision, but I woke up today knowing was going to Wake Forest and I was very happy," Tetlow said.

He chose Wake over scholarship offers from Arizona State, Boston College, East Carolina, Maryland, Navy, Old Dominion, Pittsburgh, Purdue, South Florida and Temple. Florida State, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and West Virginia also showed significant interest in the Commonwealth prospect.

"I got together with my parents and we sat down and talked about it and went through all of my schools," Tetlow said. "I had a couple of top choices, so I really sat down and talked about every single school. I really, really liked Wake and so I decided to I was ready. I had a couple of schools I was waiting on to offer me, but I kept thinking more and more the past couple of days even if they do offer it doesn't really change how I feel, so I thought I was ready. I called Coach Hime and committed."

Tetlow will enroll at Wake for summer school in July.

"I'm excited to help lead the team to a championship," Tetlow said.
