Holmes has a good time on visit
Three years ago Tyre'oune Holmes watched his Tylertown (Miss.) teammate Jameon Lewis sign a scholarship to play football at Mississippi State.
Holmes took over as the Chiefs quarterback and patterned his game after Lewis which led to the same result. The two-star athlete is set to sign with the Bulldogs as well in February.
"I watched him all the time when he was playing down here," Holmes said. "That's the player that I wanted to be. I knew it so I just watched him and did what it took to get (to Mississippi State)."
It was no surprise that Lewis served as Holmes' host during his official visit to Starkville over the weekend.
"It was cool just connecting with him and being around him," Holmes said. "He knew how to show me a good time because I like what he likes."
Once Holmes arrives at MSU the Tylertown duo will again be spending a lot of time together. The Bulldogs also plan to use Holmes as a receiver, kick returner and punt returner just as they do Lewis.
