LeGrand enjoys spring game
Dubuque Senior offensive lineman Lucas LeGrand ended the recruiting process when he committed early to the University of Iowa. This weekend, the future Hawkeye was at Iowa's spring game where he was trying to help sway some of the other talented prospects in attendance to join him. We caught up with LeGrand to talk about the visit and much more.
Q: How was the Iowa spring game?
LEGRAND: I thought it was very good. I liked the up-tempo offense they are starting to run. All in all, it was great experience and I had fun meeting so many new guys.
Q: Was there was something that really stood out as the highlight of your trip?
LEGRAND: Being able to stand on the sidelines during the game was pretty fun.
Q: Did it feel different at all being there and having already committed to Iowa?
LEGRAND: It felt like I had a lot more time to do what I wanted compared to the other guys. There was nothing really special since I'm still just a high school kid.
Q: Did they say anything different about your eventual role with the team?
LEGRAND: It was the same as last time; just play tackle and redshirt.
Q: How was it getting to talk to the coaches more?
LEGRAND: That was a lot of fun getting to know them more. Coach Morgan is coming to my school (Monday). I had more time to get to know them. The more I talk to them, the more I like them.
Q: Were you recruiting any of the other recruits to pick Iowa as well?
LEGRAND: Of course. I was talking to Matt (Nelson) and C.J. (Hilliard) while they were on the sidelines. I was telling them that Iowa was the place to be. I am pretty sure CJ liked it a lot.
