Bird Looking for a Place to Nest

In spite of a four-star, and three-star commitment from the junior college ranks along with the possibility of Justin Johnson someday playing linebacker there is no doubt that most perceive Oklahoma's 2008 recruiting at linebacker to be a bit disappointing. So it only stands to reason that Brent Venables and co. will be looking for the nation's best in the class of 2009.

One such player is middle linebacker Jaydan Bird of Conway Springs, Kan. who says he will be in attendance for Oklahoma's upcoming junior day and believes he has a good shot at receiving an offer.

"I think OU is close to offering," Bird said. "Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech might be close as well."
