One of 2010ís best impressed by Georgia

The Dawgs had their chance to impress one of the top linebackers in the country and they did so over the weekend. The talented junior from up north made the trip down south and Jordan Hicks left Athens thinking highly of the University of Georgia.

"Georgia has been sending me a lot of mail and they sent an invite for the Georgia Tech game to my coach, so I wanted to visit them to see what it was like," said Hicks. "I have always liked Coach Mark Richt, I wanted to see the atmosphere at Georgia, and I am glad I made it down there."

Hicks drove down Friday night and then headed back home to Ohio Saturday evening. He arrived home around 4am, so was all the driving and long hours worth the trip to Athens?

"Definitely so," he said without hesitation. "The atmosphere was great, the coaches were nice, and I really was impressed. I got to talk with Coach [John] Jancek and he is a real nice guy. He is very personable and I plan to stay in touch with him."

Going into the visit, Hicks had high thoughts of Georgia's head coach. Even though he did not get much one on one time with Coach Richt during this visit, he still made a favorable impression.

"Coach Richt met my expectations. He gave a speech to all of the recruits and he said one thing that I really liked; he said that it is all not about football, but it is about being a good person too and I really liked that. Coach Richt sounded like a great guy."
