Fletcher a fan of the CSU defense

When the Colorado State coaching staff signed Texas safety Mychal Sisson in 2007, they had no idea they had found a freshman All-American Sam linebacker. Now two years later, the Rams are trying to fill a hole left by the graduation of Mike linebacker Jeff Horinek. Could Miami (FL) Dr. Krop inside linebacker Quanthony Fletcher be another recruiting home run?

The 6-foot-1, 244 pound Fletcher was in Fort Collins this weekend visiting CSU and was impressed by what the Rams had to offer, even if the weather wasn't quite what he was used to.

"It was good, it was a new experience with the cold and the mountains, but it was nice," said Fletcher. "I like that [CSU] just keeps building, they're adding on a lot of new stuff. Anything that they're adding on will be nice for me so when I get there I'll be ready."

He also added that he was a fan of Larry Kerr's defensive scheme.

"They also run the same defense that I run now, so it wouldn't be hard to catch on."

Fletcher is being recruited by CSU Tight End's coach Marc Lubick and was hosted by Elijah Blu-Smith, who he felt was very down-to-Earth.

During his visit, Fletcher did get a chance to meet Sisson or Ricky Brewer.

Fletcher has one more visit already scheduled for Marshall this on the 23rd and hopes to get a visit to Tennessee before he makes a decision on February 4th.

He chimed in on what had him drawn to Huntington, West Virginia's Marshall University.

"They're a good school with a real rich tradition and high tech equipment that [the coaches] were talking about so I want to get up there and check it out."

Fletcher, who ranked tenth in the state of Florida with 105 solo tackles in 2008, lists his top schools right now as Colorado State, Marshall, South Florida and Tennessee.
