Jersey junior familiar with BC
Kyle Queiro of Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic.Over the course of the last decade, Boston College has had a good amount of recruiting success with North Jersey parochial prospects. The ability to get a good amount of the top talent to camp during the summer is always a big advantage for the Eagles, and that is helping their chances with junior athlete
Queiro, 6-foot-3 and 185-pounds, is enjoying his first season at Bergen Catholic after transferring over from Seton Hall Prep.
"I transferred to play wide receiver, but I ended up having to play free safety for the good of the team," said Queiro. "I'm fine with it. I mix in at wide receiver sometimes too."
For some players a transfer my slow down recruiting, but for Queiro everyone seems to be aware of his new scholastic address.
"I'm getting hundreds of letters from Boston College, Rutgers, Penn State, and Connecticut and Stanford have also reached out to me," said Queiro.
The junior athlete has yet to take any visits to this point, but is likely to take at least two this fall.
"I want to get out to Penn State for sure," said Queiro. "I've wanted to go there since I was a kid. And I'll probably go to a Boston College game too."
Before he started at Bergen Catholic this fall, Queiro camped at both Boston College and Yale during the summer.
"I dominated Yale and at Boston College I thought I did well too," said Queiro.
After attending the BC summer camp, Queiro had a few thoughts about the program.
"The facilities were some of the best that I've seen," said Queiro. "The campus wasn't the best, but I don't know if I would be staying on campus if I attended BC anyway. Also the fact that the college is surrounded by multiple other universities is attractive."
During the camp, Queiro was impressed by the coaching he experienced.
"The coaching was very good," said Quiero. "I liked the intensity and they got a lot out of the players."
