OL makes second trip to BC

Tommy Hopkins has been to Boston College's campus before for its summer camp and last week the 2013 offensive tackle from Hawthorne (N.Y.) Westlake was back for the Eagles' game against Florida State.

Even though it was another loss for Boston College, the 6-foot-6, 282-pound prospect said he still likes the Eagles a lot and hopes to hear lots more from their coaches over the next few months.

The Eagles are definitely one of his early favorites.

"I went up to the game on Thursday and it was exciting," Hopkins said. "It was a good atmosphere. Just being on the sidelines before the game it was awesome. I got to meet the coaches and it was really nice.

"I actually went to the camp in the summer in June. I really liked it up there. I didn't work with coach (Sean) Devine that much but it was good. He taught me a lot of good things and a lot of technique so I liked it."

Boston College is showing lots of early interest in Hopkins, who said he's receiving all the relevant recruiting interest.

Coaches have asked for film, he regularly e-mails with the coaches, he's been to summer camp and now he's seen the Eagles play in person.

Hopkins said he hopes Boston College remains involved throughout his recruitment.

"So far I've been invited to their camp, I got a few letters and they've invited me to some games," Hopkins said.

"They've been e-mailing me and I spoke to the recruiting coach, they asked for film and they've talked to my coaches. I like the school a lot. It's a good school and there is good football there. I really like it."

Other than Boston College, Hopkins said he watched a game at Rutgers a few weeks ago, plans to go to Syracuse soon and has been hearing from Penn State as well. A return visit to Boston College next summer for another camp visit has not been ruled out.
