NFL Boilers: Phillips cashing in; Week 15 notes

Shaun Phillips is proving there's still some gas left in the tank in his 10th NFL season.

Sunday, he picked up his 10th sack of the season, in a loss to former team San Diego, and in doing so hit his second incentive of the season. That, after he signed only a one-year, $1-million deal in Denver after nine years with the Chargers.

And his departure from San Diego has him a little testy. Some Charger fans have taken to calling Phillips a traitor, but he says they have it wrong; San Diego didn't re-sign him.

"So if they don't re-sign me, I'm going to go to my best option," he told ESPN.com "And my best option was to come to Denver. So for me, there's no hard feelings. Obviously, they felt they had someone better than me - therefore one man's trash is another man's treasure."

Bernard Pollard says he was told by the NFL that officials made a mistake in flagging him for a hit against Eric Decker a week ago.

Pollard hit Decker cleanly, although violently, in the Broncos' Week 14 win. The Tennessee safety has been fined multiple times for hits this season. But not this one.

Nick Hardwick is nursing a neck injury, but it's not kept him from starting.

With chaos around him, Ryan Kerrigan is working to make the Redskins the best they can be.

The following is a look at the NFL Boilers, their roles and their Week 15 statistics.
