2023 Projection: Possible Starter at Defensive End
Malik Langham decided to use his 6th year of eligibility, also known as the COVID Year, to make another move north, this time to West Lafayette.
Coming out of high school, Langham was a four-star prospect and one of the better commits to the 2018 Florida recruiting class.
He would spend only one season in Gainesville before heading to Vanderbilt. He spent four seasons in Nashville, including a year he had to sit out in 2019 due to transfer rules... that no longer exist.
He is now headed into his sixth and final season. When he was a freshman at Florida, Malik was a lean 255 pounds. Now, the interior defensive lineman is right at 300 pounds. Langham's length, size, and frame are a perfect fit as a defensive end for Ryan Walters at Purdue.
If you love stats, then looking at the production from Malik over five seasons of college football is not eye-popping, as he has only totaled 33 tackles. But, it is more of a need and a fit on the defensive line.
He will battle a variety of other transfers for a starting position as one of the two defensive ends.
