47 Days Until Purdue Football, Domanick Moon & Brendan Cropsey

Our first two for one of the summer. With 47 days until Purdue Football returns, today's featured players are Domanick Moon & Brendan Cropsey.

Domanick Moon - Freshman (RS)

Fort Wayne, Indiana (Fort Wayne Snider High School)

Linebacker

6-2, 220 Pounds

2023 Projection: Reserve Inside Linebacker

Domanick Moon will look to find the field in any way he can during his second year on campus. With a couple of upperclassmen linebackers in front of him on the depth chart at inside linebacker, he could see himself on a variety of special teams' during the 2023 season.

The former consensus 3-star prospect tallied nearly 200 tackles in his illustrious high school career at Fort Wayne Snider High School. He was named Mr. Football for the linebacker position, proving that during the 2022 recruiting cycle, he was the best linebacker in the state of Indiana.

Moon has a bright future at Purdue, if injuries occur, he will see his number called sooner rather than later on the defense.

Brendan Cropsey - Junior (RS)

Saline, Michigan (Saline High School)

Punter

6-1, 190 Pounds

2023 Projection: Reserve Punter

The walk-on punter had two kicks last season in limited action, averaging 44 yards per punt. As it stands, he will back up scholarship Aussie Punter, Jack Ansell.

While his time on the field may be limited, Cropsey's time studying is not. Brendan is majoring in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering. Not only is he majoring in that, he is absolutely excelling. He has been named to the Big Ten All-Academic Team two years in a row now.

I would venture to say that he is the only one on the All-Academic Team with a focus on being an Astronautical Engineer.
