Against the odds: Week 7 Big Ten picks
Week Seven Big Ten action. Picking against the spread.
How did I do last week? 1-4 vs. the line.
For the year: 15-21 vs. the line.
My selections this week ...
Ohio State (-24) at Michigan State: No Ryan Day, no problem. Brutus wants to make a point. Take OSU and lay the 24.
Nebraska at Purdue (-1.5): I wouldn't touch this game with a 10-foot pole, but I have to. So, give me Purdue Pete and lay the 1.5.
Penn State (-11.5) at Rutgers: Really? The Scarlet Knights are a double-digit dog? Give me Schiano's grimace and those 11.5 points.
Indiana at Wisconsin (-14): The IU parade is muted in Madison. Give me Bucky and lay the 14.
Iowa (-13.5) at Illinois: No one is hotter than Herky. Take Iowa and lay the 13.5.
Northwestern at Minnesota: cancelled
Maryland at Michigan: cancelled
Lock of the week: No way Penn State covers 11.5 vs. Rutgers.
Spread too big: Penn State -11.5 at Rutgers.
Spread too small: Nothing stands out, but maybe Ohio State (-24) wins by four TDs.
Avoid this game: Nebraska at Purdue (-1.5). Two ships adrift in an ocean of uncertainty.
