WR Amad Anderson, Jr., in transfer portal

Sophomore receiver Amad Anderson, Jr., has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to the Rivals Transfer Portal twitter account.

The 5-11, 175-pound Anderson caught five passes for 19 yards this season and ran once for eight yards. He played in all five of Purdue's games in 2020, being targeted nine times.

As a redshirt freshman in 2019, the Staten Island, N.Y., native made 31 receptions for 343 yards and three TDs. He redshirted in 2018. Anderson will leave Purdue with 36 career catches for 343 yards and three TDs.

Anderson is the second Purdue receiver to leave the team of late. On Monday, Jeff Brohm confirmed that fifth-year senior Jared Sparks has opted out.

Anderson was able to play on the outside and in the slot. But he was fighting for time among a talented group of wideouts that included sophomores Rondale Moore, David Bell and Milton Wright, along with redshirt freshman T.J. Sheffield, true freshmen Maliq Carr and Abdur-Rahmaan Yaseen and fifth-year senior Jackson Anthrop.
