Evan Battey announcing on Tuesday
More ($): Purdue Class of 2017 targets
Purdue hopes it's closing in, finally, on its first commitment for 2017.
California forward Evan Battey will announce his decision - he's down to Purdue, Colorado and Miami (Fla.), the three schools he officially visited - on Tuesday afternoon at Villa Park High School in California.

The 6-foot-7, 270-pound post player would be an important addition for Purdue, in part because of his potential as a physical frontcourt presence, but also his offensive skill for that role. Battey is probably the most offensively skilled true post player Purdue has recruited for this class, not counting five-star Jaren Jackson as a true post.
Battey, a classmate and friend of Purdue quarterback commitment Nick Sipe at Villa Park, is ranked No. 143 nationally by Rivals.com. He officially visited Boulder, Miami and West Lafayette each of the past three weekends, respectively, and also holds offers from New Mexico, Missouri, DePaul and numerous others.
