Hammons honored
Purdue freshman center A.J. Hammons has been named the Big Ten's Freshman-of-the-Week after starring in a pair of Boilermaker losses.
The 7-footer scored a Purdue season-best 30 points in the Boilermakers' blowout loss to Indiana, then finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds in a loss at Northwestern Saturday.
This is Purdue's first weekly honor of the season.
