Purdue goes 2-for-2 with its junior college wide receiver targets

Purdue needed junior college help at wide receiver to boost its decimated depth chart at a position of increased importance and got the players it wanted.

Monday, the Boilermakers landed Coffeyville (Kansas) Community College's Terry Wright, who committed to them over offers Houston and Western Kentucky, among others, as well as an offer from Minnesota's former staff and interest from Missouri.

The 6-foot, 170-pound Rivals.com three-star prospect caught 50 passes for 800-plus yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore at Coffeyville.

The Memphis native joins Georgia Military College's Isaac Zico, who committed on Friday, as the two junior college additions to a wide receiver corps that lost its top four players from last season and returns few proven players.

Purdue has already signed high school wide receivers D'J Edwards and Tyler Hamilton as mid-year additions and holds a commitment from anticipated Wednesday signee C.J. Hayes. It also hosted three-star wide receiver JaVonta Payton for an official visit this weekend.
