Purdue will play in the Jan. 1 Heart of Dallas Bowl against a yet-to-be-announced Big 12 opponent.
Interim coach Patrick Higgins and players Robert Marve and Kawann Short will discuss the bowl berth at a 6 p.m. press conference this evening.
Texas has been a familiar bowl locale for Purdue, which played in two Alamo Bowls in the late '90s in San Antonio and three Sun Bowl games in El Paso in the mid-2000s.
Tim Simmons, of the Heart of Dallas committee said at 4 p.m. this afternoon that the likely opponents are Oklahoma State, TCU or Iowa State. He also said that it varies by the team of when they typically arrive in Dallas. Penn State came last year on or around Dec. 26, but teams aren't required to be there until later in the week.
More to come.
