Purdue has hit the graduate-transfer recruiting market hard since Jeff Brohm took over the program and now has a potentially important piece at an important position to show for it.

Former Wake Forest safety Joshua Okonye announced on Twitter Friday night that he's decided on Purdue after making an official visit earlier this winter.

Okonye, who has a connection at Purdue in that Boilermaker cornerbacks coach Derrick Jackson coached with the Demon Deacons during his time there, joins former Western Kentucky linebacker T.J. McCollum as immediately-eligible fifth-year transfer in the fold for Purdue for 2017.

Last season, the 6-foot, 200-pound Texan played in 13 games and made 36 tackles with three breakups.
