"It's fantastic," he said. "I couldn't be more satisfied."
McGehee was recruited with the plan being for him to punt - Cody Webster is a senior - and possibly handle kickoff duty from Day 1.
The Pine Bluff High School kicker becomes Purdue's sixth Class of 2014 commitment.
McGehee came to West Lafayette Friday expecting to commit.
"I just had to see it for myself first," he said.
Houston also offered a scholarship. Arkansas offered a preferred walk-on spot that McGehee was told could turn into a scholarship situation.
Recruiting is over, though, he said.
"That's all done with," McGehee said.
