Purdue lands Ohio offensive lineman

Purdue landed its eighth commitment and second of the weekend Saturday, when Ohio offensive tackle Eric Miller committed, less than a week after being offered by Boilermaker coaches following Monday night's camp session.

Miller returned to campus Friday for an unofficial visit.

"I saw just a combination of factors," Miller said Saturday. "It was the great education, the facilities are incredible and obviously the coaching staff they put together is second to none. It was just about seeing everything one more time."

The 6-foot-6, 260-some-pounder from Mason High School in Ohio, near Cincinnati, chose Purdue over several MAC and Ivy League opportunities, as well as interest from Maryland and Rutgers, among others.

"I think it's a program on the rise," Miller said of Purdue last week. "The coaches, coming from Western Kentucky, I think they know how to win and they know how to compete for championships. Obviously Purdue is a great educational opportunity as well and those things mix pretty well for me with them."

Miller becomes Purdue's first offensive tackle commitment for 2018 and eighth recruit overall. His commitment comes on the heels of Friday night's from Florida wide receiver Cornelius McCoy.
