FORT WAYNE — Purdue's the first to offer Fort Wayne's Caleb Furst, signaling the beginning of what should be a busy few years for him on the recruiting front.

The 6-foot-9, 210-pound 15-year-old lefty from Blackhawk Christian has been the subject of significant attention from college coaches for the better part of a year now, but interest turned into something more this spring when Purdue's Matt Painter put the first offer on the table for the Class of 2021 prospect.

The offer came April 20 after Painter visited Blackhawk for an open gym.

"They said that not only do they think that I'm good on the basketball court," Furst said Saturday at the Hensley Memorial Run 'N Slam in Fort Wayne, "but that I'm good in the classroom and that I have a good family and good support around me."

And, ability.
