Quick Count: Purdue practice No. 11

The Boilermakers held their second practice of Saturday's two-a-day at the Bimel outdoor complex, just after a brief rain shower moved through West Lafayette.

Purdue was in shells, practicing for about an hour-and-a-half while focusing much of its time on team drills.

Following are quick notes:

• It was a successful afternoon for the first-team offense, particularly in a couple scenarios: The four-minute and the two-minute. It was "victorious" in both, draining the clock down to a mere seconds to preserve a lead in the four-minute and rallying from down a touchdown in the two-minute.

• A couple other Boilermakers joined the injury list, although neither looked very serious. DE Tim Faison (concussion) has been out a couple days; he was joined by cornerback Tim Cason (hamstring), who came up lame in perimeter and didn't return and D-end Shayne Henley (undetermined), who shed his uniform after a visit to the training tent.

Myles Norwood took his turn as the No. 1 cornerback, continuing the rotation between him, Kamal Hardy and Cason. With a couple DEs on the sideline, redshirt freshman Wyatt Cook got No. 2 snaps. Another interesting depth development will be outlined in analysis, because it affects the first-team.

• Purdue is off Sunday before a two-a-day Monday.
