• For the first time, J.C. transfer Jalen Neal took first-team repetitions at right tackle. In what is expected to be a three-man race for the starting spot — Matt McCann and Cameron Cermin are the other possibilities — it had been largely McCann through the first three days.

• JUCO athlete Malik Kimbrough was at practice, but in street clothes. The punt return specialist, however, could be with the Boilermakers soon, once he's passed all his physical requirements.

• Domo Young has looked fantastic through the first four days, catching nearly everything in sight and becoming a go-to — reliable — receiver.
