Randle down to three
Longtime Boilermaker 2011 recruiting target Chasson Randle has pared his list down to just three.
The 6-foot-2 guard from Rock Island High School in Illinois told the Quad-City Times he's now considering only Purdue, Illinois and Stanford, in no particular order.
"It just came down to if I had to choose today, I'd be happy with any of those three," Randle told the newspaper.
Last week, after returning from Germany, where he won a gold medal with USA Basketball's 17-and-under national team, Randle said he intended to cut his list this seven, revealing only Purdue, Illinois and Stanford as certainties to make the cut.
Among others who have offered scholarships at one time or another during the process have been Connecticut, Ohio State, Iowa, Iowa State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Indiana, Northwestern, Miami and Florida State. Duke and Kansas have maintained interest, also.
Purdue has been a constant on the highly recruited guard's list.
"Coach Painter and their staff are very involved," Randle said last week at the Best of the Midwest tournament in Fishers, where his Illinois Wolves won the 17-and-under division, "and then it's an opportunity to win and be a part of a good team."
Randle is ranked No. 63 overall in the 2011 class by Rivals.com.
He said last week he expects to take at least two of his five official visits before making a commitment.
