Robby Carmody planning summer official visits

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. - Four-star Robby Carmody has been a major Purdue target in the Class of 2018 and it appears as if an official visit for the 6-foot-4 guard is in the works.

The Boilermakers are among three schools that Carmody said were on him the hardest at this point as he begins planning summer visits.

"Michigan, Notre Dame and Purdue," Carmody said of the schools on him hardest."I have officials set up to Notre Dame and Purdue right now."

Carmody doesn't have specific dates for either of those potential visits at the moment as he's hoping to get a feel for what the team's players are like away from the court. Carmody said that he's likely to do the two official visits close to one another as they could come in the middle of June.

"I've been there so much, it's just to kind of hang out with the guys and see what it's like before I make my decision," Carmody said of the two Indiana schools. "I've been to those places so many times. It's just going to be nice to hang out with the guys and see what they do."

Since Carmody has also scrimmaged with both teams before, he's hoping to get a feel for what campus life is like for a student-athlete during his visits.

"Off the court stuff; I've scrimmaged with them," Carmody said. "I just want to get to know them off the court. See if I fit in, that kind of stuff."

Although no official visit has been tentatively set with Michigan, Carmody acknowledged that the Wolverines could also receive an official visit during June as they also remain heavily in the picture.

While those three Midwest programs are currently leading for Carmody, some other schools are trying to make a push as well.

"They're kind of separating themselves a little bit," Carmody said of his three leaders. "Pitt and Maryland have been on me really hard too."

Carmody is spending this weekend playing with the New York Rens on Nike's EYBL circuit.
