Taylor lost to academics

Fifth-year senior Brandon Taylor, a potential starter for Purdue this season, has been lost to academic issues, Coach Darrell Hazell said Wednesday morning in Chicago.
Taylor played in nine games for Purdue last season and started seven the year prior.
With Kawann Short departing, Taylor, if healthy, likely would have been a key contributor at a position where Purdue now finds itself thin, with only veterans Bruce Gaston and Ryan Isaac the Boilermakers' only significantly experienced returnees, though underclassmen Ryan Watson and Michael Rouse could be needed to contribute.
