Williams' commit a 'vital' one for Purdue at position of need

Purdue needed a big man in its 2018 class.
Trevion Williams, a 6-foot-8, pushing-300-pounder, fit that bill.
So when four-star Williams announced Thursday he'd chosen Purdue, it almost was a perfect-world sort of union.
"I think it’s an important one for them in that landing a big man with some skill and hopefully the ability to play some right away was a pretty big priority for them. So any time you’re able to check off the box in one of your most high-priority things, it’s automatically a good get," Rivals.com national basketball analyst Eric Bossi said. "But, even better, it’s a guy who was a Plan A guy and a guy who fits their style of play. If everything pans out, it should be a very good get for them."
