Purdue center A.J. Hammons has been named an honorable-mention All-American by the Associated Press.

As a senior, the 7-footer led the Boilermakers in scoring at 15 points per game on 59.2-percent shooting and averaged a nearly Big Ten-leading 2.5 blocked shots and nearly team-leading 8.2 rebounds.

He was named first-team All-Big Ten and the Big Ten's Defensive Player-of-the-Year.

He becomes the first Boilermaker to earn an All-America honor since Robbie Hummel since 2012.
